It’s the difference between a good cut and a great one. We don’t envy the barber that has to make sense of our ramblings about length and shape, but have to respect it when they make it seem like we’re on to something. How it raises the bar: It’s all in the pre-cut chat. Oh and the prices, it should be said, are reasonable (£36 for a wash and cut) for such a high-end chop. They’re also working hard to limit their carbon footprint, in part by sticking exclusively to organic hair products made by Oway. Founded by ex-Ruffians shearers Maxwell Oakley and Luke Davies, Supply 91 was conceived to veer closer to a hairdresser than a chop shop, prioritising meaningful conversations with their clients about their cuts. Tucked away on a beautiful side street off Upper Street, this new, environmentally-conscious barbershop has quickly cemented itself as one of London’s finest.
